How we are responding to Covid-19

March 23, 2020

First and foremost, our deepest sympathy goes out to everyone who has been afflicted with Covid-19. We send our blessings to those we have lost, peace to those who have lost someone, and hopes of a speedy and full recovery to those who are currently suffering.

We hope that you and yours are safe and well, and following the measures recommended by medical professionals. We ask that all who can #StayHomeStaySafe. To all our first responders and medical professionals on the front lines, we thank you for your dedication, skill, and courage. We wish a veil of protection around you so that you can safely return to your loved ones every day.

For an update from our small corner of the world:

We remain open as an essential service and are proceeding with the utmost caution.

In accordance with the State of Illinois “Stay at Home” order, which requires all non-essential services to stay at home, we continue to follow local direction. As a bulk drug manufacturer, our business is considered an essential service, and we continue to operate under heightened measures to minimize the risk to all our employees and our community. These measures include having all office personnel work from home whenever possible, restricting movements among our facilities, adding extra sanitization between shifts, and suspending all non-critical visitors to our facilities.

While the unprecedented challenges related to Covid-19 continue, we are working to improve our remote working tools to serve our clients and community most effectively. Until we return to the office, we ask that current or prospective clients:

  1. Please use email as your first and primary means to contact us with any questions or issues you may have, orders you may place, or support you may need.
  2. If you wish to chat about your business needs and concerns via conference call or video conference, please contact us in advance to set up an appointment so we can be sure to have the right team members available to address your questions.
  3. Please allow 24–36 hours for a response to non-urgent questions as we coordinate across varied schedules due to the expanded daily schedules we have instituted for our teams in order to maximize protection and coverage to serve our clients’ needs on a global basis.

During these dynamic conditions, with almost daily changes in government response, we continue to monitor the situation and will update this page with important changes to our operations. We will answer the most commonly asked questions below, and for more details or if you have any additional questions, please contact us at hello@solesence.com.

Be Well,

The Solésence Team

FAQs:

What are you doing to support your employees during this time?

We are dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, and prosperity of all our employees. Office personnel are all working from home whenever possible, and we understand that many of our employees are also taking care of their children amidst school closures, resulting in shifted business hours for some. We have heightened communication among all our employees to ensure that they feel supported.

For employees needing to be onsite in our manufacturing facilities, we have changed shift schedules to create more social distancing in our workplace. This includes the elimination of any overlap between shifts and any interactions among our 3 facilities.

Do your employees have sick leave?

All our full-time employees have sick time, which enables them to be paid their full salary should they be out of work due to illness. Should their absence turn into an extended leave, we also have short-term and long-term disability to both provide them with continuing income and protect their job during their absence.

What are you doing to support the community during this time?

Our mission is to enhance people’s lives, and we are looking to help our community as much as possible. By continuing to service our current clients and forge relationships with new ones, we take comfort in knowing that every new product out our door is another dollar in the pocket of an employee at the business we are serving.

We are also using our expertise in materials and formulation to support the health of our greater community. Our parent company is a manufacturer of materials used in medical diagnostics. We take pride in knowing that by keeping our business safe, we are also securing the production of additional critical diagnostic tools amidst this crisis.
